The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology is seeking a Research Instructor appointment stream to develop and test a novel lipid nitroalkene microbubble, where a multifunction anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic drug is woven into the shell of the microbubble, for the treatment of both myocardial ischemia-reperfusion and maladaptive myocardial fibrosis following acute MI. They will develop MicroRNA-lipid microbubbles to treat remote zone myocardial fibrosis. The Research Instructor will develop a nitrofatty acid microbubble for targeted therapy of triple-negative breast cancer. They will conduct in vivo studies to test these new therapeutics. They will also continue to test phase shift microbubbles for the treatment of myocardial microvascular obstruction.

Effort Allocation: 100% Research

Minimum Qualifications - PhD in Pharmacy or related field. Postdoctoral experience for a minimum of 3 years with experience in principles and techniques of biochemistry, physiology, and molecular biology.
