POSITION SUMMARY:

The Plumbing Technician will be responsible for the prompt performance of assigned plumbing and related duties including the installation, repair and/or maintenance of pipes, sinks, traps, washbowls, toilet fittings, drains, etc. You must ensure quality workmanship and high work standards conforming at all times to the published plumbing codes and our company’s standards- all while extending exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing water heaters, tank-less water heaters, tubs, toilets, sinks, faucets, showers, various valves, pipes, drains, water softeners, sump pumps, drains, clogged sewers, etc.
  • Detecting faults in plumbing appliances and systems, and correctly.
  • Ordering materials and supplies.
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining domestic, commercial, and industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
  • Locating and marking positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Measuring, cutting, bending, and threading pipes using hand and power tools or machines.
  • Joining pipes and fittings together using soldering techniques, compression fittings, threaded fittings, and push-on fittings.
  • Maintains records of repairs.
  • Accurate completion of work orders and associated paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience in the plumbing industry.
  • A plumbing license is preferred.
  • Superior troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with little supervision.
  • Customer-service oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to speak English.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends.

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as through recreational experience.
