General Summary

Adjunct Faculty will be responsible for teaching prepared and well-defined courses in the online program at Indiana Tech, and assist with the assessment of student learning, as appropriate. Classes are completely offered in an online modality. Relocation to Fort Wayne, IN is not required. The successful candidate will bring a passion for teaching and a desire to support and mentor electrical engineering technology students as they pursue educational and career goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Teach as needed in online/remote programs.
  • Fulfill teaching requirements and evaluate student performance as outlined in course objectives and Indiana Tech Policy & Procedures.
  • Demonstrates and maintains current subject area knowledge.
  • Establishes and maintains an engaging and supportive classroom environment.
  • Maintains student grades, and other records according to the guidelines of the College of Professional Studies at Indiana Tech and submits them in a timely manner.
  • Develop innovative teaching pedagogies to facilitate learning.
  • Incorporates high-impact teaching practices into course design, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize workflow.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering from a regionally accredited higher education institution required; Master's preferred.
  • Working knowledge of or teaching experience in one or more of the following course topics: electronic circuits, electronic circuits laboratories, digital circuits, digital circuits laboratory, PLCs, electrical machines, and PCB layout and fabrication. Five or more years industrial/field experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, implementing a variety of teaching strategies.
  • Effective communication skills (interpersonal, speaking, and writing)
  • Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment at Indiana Tech online campus.
  • Respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs.
  • Proficiency with technology.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing and teaching online courses.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an online/remote working environment. Scheduling of work supporting online students must be flexible to accommodate student learning. Timely response to students is expected. Candidate must be able to provide own sufficient and secure internet connectivity, as well as work environment in which confidentiality and productivity can be maintained. Candidates will not be provided with a computer and must own or have access to a Windows-based computer.
