Athletic Trainer
Illinois Wesleyan University, a NCAA Division III institution and member of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin, invites applications for two (2) full-time, 12-month positions of Assistant Athletic Trainer. These positions will both be a split appointment between Illinois Wesleyan University and Orthopedic Sports Enhancement Center. Generous benefits include health, retirement, and professional development. These are newly created positions with a projected start date of August 1, 2023. Clinic duties will be required as assigned but only to supplement hours not fulfilled in IWU athletics (ex. during summer and extended breaks). Competitive salary with additional income opportunities for PRN work with camps and external events.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, injury prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for IWU student-athletes. Injury documentation and treatment records are required while covering a Fall, Winter and Spring sport. Work in conjunction with the coaching staff to ensure safety of student-athletes at practices and competitions. Communicate frequently with coaching staff to provide updates on rehabilitation and return to play decisions while working with the team physicians and other sports medicine professionals to provide necessary care for over 600 IWU student-athletes. The athletic trainer in this position should provide sport coverage for assigned teams which will include travel, evening and weekend hours. Sport assignment will be determined by the strengths of the candidate and needs of the sports medicine department.

Requirements:
- Minimum of one year experience as a licensed athletic trainer
- Bachelor's degree is required / Masters preferred
- BOC Certified
- Must possess a State of Illinois License or be State of Illinois License eligible
- CPR/AED Certified
- Valid driver's license
