Summary Position
Elon University is seeking an ambitious individual to fill the role of Academic Coordinator. This individual will work with assigned student-athletes to facilitate academic progress and monitor academic success. Demonstrate a commitment to NCAA rules compliance and adherence to NCAA regulations.

General Purpose of Position
Assist the athletic academic services staff with the day-to-day operations of the office including study hall and the academic monitoring of athletic teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Academic Coordinator will be expected to:
- Facilitate weekly meetings to monitor and track academic progress, including attendance, with all freshman and at-risk student athletes
- Monitor daily and nightly study hall
- Provide academic advising to student-athletes, including learning assistance, campus resource referrals, major and course selections, as needed
- Assist and advise students each semester during the preregistration process
- Facilitate schedule changes in a timely manner, as needed
- Provide regular academic update reports monitoring students’ progress to the Director and coaching staff
- Communicate and collaborate with the Peak Performance Team for assigned sports
- Meet with recruited student-athletes to provide a comprehensive review of the academic support program and its services
- Monitor and review continuing eligibility of all student-athletes
- Teach an Elon 1010 (freshman transition) course to incoming first year students each fall
- Continually monitor student degree audits, class schedules, and course requirements to keep student-athletes on track to graduate
- Demonstrate a commitment to NCAA rules, compliance and adherence to NCAA regulations
