Manager / Director, Talent Acquisition
This role will oversee and manage all talent acquisition and onboarding processes and activities for the entire company (a/o 2022 YE, ~400 ees). This is a "player/coach" role, with some activities and tasks performed directly (i.e., the "player"), while overseeing and assisting (i.e., the "coach") Field HR Managers and Branch Staff (e.g., Branch Managers, Office Managers, etc.) in non-exempt hiring. The role encompasses design, process, and execution.
Role and Responsibilities
The Director, Talent Acquisition will manage and coordinate activities related to personnel hiring and onboarding at all levels and all locations, including the strategy, process design, and execution. The Director will be personally responsible for all exempt hiring, and for support and assistance to all Branch locations for all non-exempt hiring.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- In concert with the VPHR, develop a Talent Acquisition (TA) Strategy, process roadmap, and 2023 Plan
- Oversee and manage ALL sourcing, recruiting, and onboarding for ALL Custom Pipe locations.
- Develop Workforce planning process and integrate with 9-Box and OP&R (Organization Planning & Review) processes
- Develop sourcing strategies, including but not limited to: use of job boards, Linked-In search tools, employee referral programs, liaisons with local community colleges and trade schools, and agency usage.
- Learn and implement Adler's candidate assessment and interviewing methodology; train Field HR and branch hiring managers
- Assess background & reference checking methods and/or vendors; change as necessary
- Develop and implement exit interview process, execution, recordkeeping, and data analysis.
- Design and implement TA administrative processes (including requisitions, tracking, and reporting)
- Directly source and recruit for all exempt roles throughout the company
- Oversee and manage non-exempt sourcing and recruiting executed by the Branches and/or field HR generalists.
- Redesign and manage employee orientation and onboarding processes.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by the VPHR.
Near term (first 90-180 days) Priorities
Note: The below are not necessarily sequential or in priority order
- In concert with COO and VPHR, develop spec for VP, Sales & Marketing within 30 days of hire
- Using Linked-In and other tools, source candidates for VP Sales & Marketing role within 60 days of hire.
- Talk with Branch managers and/or Field HR Mangers regarding key non-exempt production roles to assess hiring and/or retention issues and expedite hiring within 60 days of hire.
- Complete Adler training within 60 days of hire.
- Develop roadmap and plan for other items listed above, within 60 days of hire.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' experience required in an HR recruiting, talent acquisition / talent management role, with responsibility for exempt and non-exempt hires. Corporate experience strongly preferred; staffing agency / recruiting firm experience will be considered.
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- MBA or MSHRM a plus
- PHR or SCP a plus
- Manufacturing industry experience a plus.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Ability to work well with others, be organized and detail-oriented.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn search and sourcing tools
- Familiar with recruiting metrics and workforce analytics
- Bilingual language skills in English and Spanish a plus.
Additional Notes
- Pre-employment drug testing required.
- Must be authorized to live and work in the U.S.
- Occasional overnight domestic travel to branch locations throughout the U.S. is required. (Estimated travel to be 10% or less.)
