Driver
Basic Function: The primary responsibility of the driver is to safely transport children to and from Children’s Place. They must interact in a warm and friendly manner with all families and children.
Scope: The Driver supports and works to maintain a child friendly environment where children increase their coping skills, social and emotional development, self-help skills and cognitive abilities.
Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Education:
- High School Diploma and /or Work Experience
- Fingerprints and Child Abuse Registry Clearance
- DOT Physical with drug screen
- Must maintain a SC Drivers License in good standing and personal insurance.
Physical Skills Required:
- No medical restrictions or limitation for lifting, walking, running, standing, etc.
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs and run if necessary.
- Must be able to speak to interact with children and families.
- Must be able to see and hear for safety, observation, and driving.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Time management
- Works well with others
Principal Responsibilities
- Drives safely in traffic, and all-weather conditions.
- Provides safety and supports the physical care of the children on the bus.
- Supports the treatment plans and procedures for children on the bus.
- Manages the safe arrival and departure of the children.
- Maintains a bus and bus area free of health, safety, or fire hazards.
- Follows disciplinary procedures outlined in the treatment manual.
- Performs housekeeping and bus chores as needed.
- Demonstrates appropriate social interactions.
- Demonstrates cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrates ability to problem solve effectively.
- Other job duties as assigned.
